5 Day Detox & Juice Cleanse Retreat
This fantastic retreat is one of the first of it’s kind in Ireland, and specially designed to completely cleanse the body, whilst leaving you with life skills to help you to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle. With a complete two day juice fast included, as well as the usual detox package of daily yoga, daily sauna/hot tub sessions, countryside walks and beautiful food, juices and smoothies, this retreat will leave you feeling bright eyed, clear headed and brimming with new knowledge.
A special addition to this retreat is the inclusion of workshops with experts such as Gaby Weiland, who will show you inspirational ways of incorporating raw foods and wholefoods into your diet. Personal development will also be covered, with a workshop with psychotherapist Rachel Webb. Two treatments are also included in the retreat - a sumptuous massage and a specialised detox accupuncture session.

This retreat provides an opportunity for you to focus on your diet, lifestyle, health and happiness. Guided by our team of experts you will experience the healing effects of eating a raw food diet, drinking organic juices, practicing yoga and meditation and taking a look at your life, valuing all that is good and changing anything about it that no longer serves you.
When we say ‘raw food’ you might conjure up visions of munching on carrots and celery but a real treat awaits you. We create delicious meals that leave you feeling totally satisfied and amazed at how simple these nutrition packed meals are to prepare. Juices and smoothies using all types of veggies, wild food, seaweed, fruit and an array of superfoods will ensure you do not go hungry. The format will include ‘hands on’ demonstrations and practical tips on how you can incorporate these ‘superfoods’ into your diet.
We start on Wednesday and finish on Sunday. Friday & Saturday we will have a ‘juice only’ cleanse. By nourishing the body with fresh nutrient rich juices, we will be flushing the body of toxins without starving the system, as with a traditional fast. The benefits of cleansing with juice are a clean and well functioning colon (which in turn helps the skin, immune system and reduces sluggishness), brighter skin and hair, a feeling of clarity and rejuvenation, elimination of toxins in the body, increased sense of energy and a general clean out of the organs of the body. It’s also a great way to kick start a healthier regime, and weight loss is often a welcome side effect, though not what we are striving for with this retreat.
Every morning we start with a gentle yoga session. This hour long practice is designed to help your body eliminate the toxins that are being released into your bloodstream through the process of detoxifying. Yoga does not merely exercise, stretch and challenge the gross physical body but each pose directly affects the internal organs and glands as well as having a profound effect on the subtle body and on the mind.
At the end of the day we return to the mat for a sunset meditation session. You will learn how to meditate and experience the beauty and freedom of silence. One of the nights we will have a ‘Silent Night’. This means that after meditation we will be silent until we gather again for yoga the next morning. In a world that is so loud and invasive this is a wonderfully unique experience.
The retreat is led by Noeleen Tyrrell founder of Ard Nahoo. She will bring a wealth of knowledge gathered over almost two decades in the field of natural health.
We are very lucky to be joined by Gaby Wieland, naturopath & cookery teacher and Rachel Webb psychotherapist and Nicola Brady, massage therapist and Natasha Telford aural acupuncturist and reflexologist . There will be group sessions with both Gaby, Rachel and Natasha. Everyone will have a massage with Nicola, and an aural acupuncture session with Natasha. If you would like private sessions with any of the therapists this can be arranged and will cost extra. Advance booking is advised.
Day 1 - Wednesday:
4pm – 6pm Arrival & Registration
During this time you can familiarise yourself with the surroundings at Ard Nahoo, have a cup of tea and meet with your cabin mates. If you cannot arrive until later, that is fine too.
6pm – 7.30pm Dinner & Overview
The programme begins with a ‘raw food’ feast. We will then go over the programme for the coming days.
7.30pm – Evening Meditation
A combination of relaxation and meditation before bedtime.
