Sat 18th Oct De Sathairn 18 Deire Fomhair CONWAY SAVAGE ( Australia)
Best known as the keyboard/piano player with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Conway Savage is a highly respected solo artist with that rare ability to inhabit a song completely, making his live shows intimate and memorable. Conway Savage is the patron saint of shabby motels, one night stands and ghost-lit filling stations. Halfway between John Fante and Burt Bacharach, his songs ache like nobody's business. If 'Never Gonna See You Again' doesn't break your heart, you don't have one." - Peter Murphy

Samhain November

Sat 8th November De Sathairn 8 Samhain NO CROWS
The fabulous Sligo based band return to the Glens. 'The melting pot that is No Crows borrows from the cosmopolitanism of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra and Loyko's innovations (with just a tincture of the freewheeling of Django Reinhart) for their debut.... Swing rarely felt this good'. Siobhan Long, The Irish Times
8.30pm. Adm: €15/12

Thurs 13th Nov Diardaoin 13 Samhain PRESTON REED (UK)
Drawing on blues, rock, funk and jazz influences among others Preston Reeds vast range of explosively original music will forever change your expectations of a guitarist. Reed has single handily reinvented acoustic guitar playing. First-time listeners find it impossible to believe that they're hearing just the one musician, in real time. While never letting his extraordinary technique overshadow the beauty of his music, the multi award winning Reed engages the entire instrument, creating a rock/jazz rhythm section, melody line and chordal accompaniment simultaneously; hauling out an orchestra you never knew was hidden inside. At full tilt, his fingers, thumbs, fists and hands at once suggest a drummer, keyboardist, bassist and several guitarists at work. The word virtuoso doesn't even come close.
'Widely thought of as the worlds most gifted guitarist' Total Guitar
8.30pm Adm: €15/12

Sun 23rd Nov De Domhnaigh 23 Samhain FLOOK (UK)
The flutes of Brian Finnegan and Sarah Allen, the guitar of Ed Boyd and the bodhran of John Joe Kelly weave and spin traditionally rooted tunes into the breathtaking sound of the groundbreaking band Flook. This group possesses a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance, delicate ensemble interaction and a bold, adventurous musical imagination. Ar nos fainleog ar an bhfeadog ata Brian Finnegan agus ar nos ulchabhan ar an bhfeadog mhor Sarah. Foinn nua chumtha ar fad ata gasta, casta, briomhar is spraoiuil. Ach is e an ceol a chruthaionn an ceathrar le cheile a chuirfidh fe gheasa th.
