Iyengar Retreat with Sue Ennis
We're joined in June by Sue Ennis, Iyengar teacher from Dublin. We're very much looking forward to hosting our first Iyengar retreat at Ard Nahoo.
Sue has been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 2002. She finds the concentration on safe alignment of the body, and the discipline and precision required, in this method appeal to her. In 2006, she qualified as an Iyengar teacher and has continued her learning since then, attending many classes and workshops run by both resident and visiting teachers. Over the past 5 years, she has taught regular classes in various north Dublin locations, including the IYC in Phibsboro and her own venue in Malahide.
In keeping with the Iyengar method, Sue favours the use of props to accommodate different levels of flexibility and catering to the individual needs and limitations of the individual. She likes to encourage her students to practice with awareness and to extend and challenge themselves in a safe and sympathetic way. Each class concludes with a period of relaxation to restore and rejuvenate the body and bring the body and mind into harmony with each other.
Yoga students of all levels are welcome to attend this weekend, but some experience of yoga is desirable.
