Noeleen Tyrrell founder and director of Ard Nahoo Eco Retreat

Noeleen Tyrrell, RCST, YTTC, CMT, is the founder and director of Ard Nahoo Eco Retreat.  She qualified as a Certified Massage Therapist in the State of California in 1992.  Since then, she has trained and worked in Sports Massage, Reflexology, Reiki and is a Registered Craniosacral Therapist.

Noeleen has practiced yoga for over 15 years.  Having suffered with back problems for years she used yoga as a therapy to heal herself. She then qualified as a yoga teacher with Marie Quail at the YTTC in Belfast in order to to use yoga to help others in her practice.   She has a particular interest in yoga during and after pregnancy.  Having had two successful homebirths and having used yoga throughout her pregnancies (and labour and birth) she is passionate about sharing the benefits to help empower pregnant women and new mums.  She has done a foundation course in Perinatal Yoga and Birth Preparation training with Francoise Freedman at the Birthlight Foundation in London and offers Yoga for Pregnancy classes and Mother and Baby Yoga classes at Ard Nahoo.

Noeleen draws on her extensive knowledge of body mechanics developed through years of training and ‘hands on’ experience as a therapist to guide her as a yoga teacher.  She encourages students to tune into their innate ability to heal and develop on all levels making her classes both therapeutic and rewarding.  On the other hand, patients coming for ‘hands on’ treatments rarely leave without some ‘yoga homework’ as a form of self therapy.

Noeleen is also a passionate environmentalist and runs her business on green principles.  Ard Nahoo has been awarded the EU Flower environmental standard.  She was on the founding committee for the Green Festival Northwest and the Wise Woman Festival and is a Director of The Greenbox, Ireland’s first designated eco-tourism project
