All of the Eco Cabins at Ard Nahoo are self catering, and have fully equipped kitchens. However, sometimes you’d rather not cook. For those evenings, you can order food in advance from a local chef, who will deliver beautiful vegetarian meals directly to your cabin, where you can heat and eat at your leisure. Do bear in mind that food needs to be ordered seven days in advance – have a look at the menu below.

Mains

  • Thai vegetable curry with jasmine rice and a cucumber pickle and spinach and sesame seed salad
  • Mixed vegetable pie with sun-dried tomatoes and capers served with braised potatoes- slow cooked in the oven with onions and herbs and a green salad
  • Moroccan tagine with couscous and pickled red onions
  • French Caponata (aubergine, tomato and olive stew) with couscous or quinoa.
  • Pinto bean chilli with brown basmati rice, plus guacamole and soured cream.
  • Chard and new potato curry with rice and naan breads
  • Beetroot and tomato stew with kale fried rice
  • Sweet potato / chick pea burgers with a tomato and basil sauce and a Sesame Coleslaw
  • Roast vegetables with puy lentils on polenta
  • Kale and leek bake and a Mustard-roasted cauliflower
  • White bean and red lentil burger with a tahini sauce and courgette and green bean salad

Desserts

  • Pear frangipane tart and cream (almonds, orange and pear on a puff pastry)
  • Apple and berry crumble and ice cream
  • Chocolate brownie and ice cream
  • Poached pears and cream

There is a wonderful restaurant in Dromahair, The Riverbank Restaurant is run by John Kelly, who trained with Neven Maguire. You can eat downstairs in the bar or in the restaurant upstairs, and they do excellent Sunday roasts and a steak night on Fridays. There are also good vegetarian options available.
